Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) at Hepworth Junior and Infant School

At Hepworth Junior and Infant School we continually strive to create an inclusive learning environment for all children.   We also recognise that, at times, a child may need some clear, targetted, extra support to enable them to reach their potential.  If this support cannot be provided by our experienced, dedicated members of staff, we will work hard to gain advice and support from external specialists.  Regardless of the need or length of time that extra support is required, Hepworth Junior and Infant School will endeavour to meet that need.

The school is part of the Holmfirth Family of Schools and works closely with them on all aspects of SEND.  Special Educational Need Co-ordinators from each school in the area meet on a regular basis with the Educational Psychologists to discuss concerns in a confidential setting, share good practice and take part in professional development.

Mrs Amanda Spencer is the school's co-ordinator for SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).  Mrs Spencer coordinates the provision for children with additional needs across the whole school.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding SEND, in the first instance please speak to your child's class teacher.  When you have spoken to your class teacher, Mrs Spencer is available for any queries or concerns and can be contacted through the school office.
