Art
Curriculum Lead - Mr Crouch
Intent:
We aim to ensure that all pupils:
- produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences
- become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques
- evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design
- know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
Implementation:
- Our whole school curriculum leads pupils through a progression of skills and knowledge which are built upon in each class.
- In the Foundation Stage, children work within the EYFS for Expressive Arts and Design as set out in the Curriculum Guidance for Foundation Stage.
- In Key Stages 1 and 2, work is planned with regard to the National Curriculum guidelines within the cross-curricular topics for each class. These can be found on the long-term plans for each Key Stage.
Impact:
- Children develop a love of art and a keen interest in different types of art work and famous artists.
- They are reflective/ critical about their work and the work of famous artists.
- They build on skills that they practise in their sketch books.
