Friends of Hepworth School

Friends of Hepworth School is a registered charity which aims to raise funds for Hepworth Junior and Infant School. It is also known as FOHS or Friends and works like a PTA for our school. It is committee led, normally with a Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and committee members. As well as the committee, we welcome everyone to contribute in any way they can, whether that is helping at an event, suggesting fundraising ideas or baking for a cake sale.  The group meets once a term to plan events and to decide how to spend money that has been raised.

Traditionally we hold many annual events including:
- 3 school discos (Halloween, Spring and end of school year)
- 4 cake sales (one per class)
- Christmas Fair
- Village hall coffee morning
- Summer Fair
- Movie nights
- 100 Club, this gets drawn once a month.  You can sign up to this with a form from the office or download the form here

The money raised at these events has paid for interactive TV’s for each classroom, the multi-use games area in the playground, a refurbishment of the library and the school text messaging service.  Proceeds from the 100 Club has also been used to fund events during an Arts week. As a charity, FOHS can also apply for grants and community funding, one such grant paid for the new play area outside Class 1.

Being part of FOHS does not require a big time commitment.  It is a great way to meet new people, make friends throughout your child's school and become part of the Hepworth community. You do not have to sign up to become a committee member just come along to a meeting, it is always great to see new faces. Your ideas and opinions are valued.
